More than four months prior to the season's finals of the FIS Alpine Snowboard World Cup tour in the Sauerland area, the German carving specialists traveled to Winterberg for the local kick off press conference and a first glimpse on the competition slope.

The Skiliftkarussell Winterberg will host the last parallel race of the 2015 winter season (PSL) on March 14.

Officials of Snowboard Germany, staff, coaches and athletes were impressed with the conditions at site.

Especially as the first artificial snow had been produced already.

Anke Karstens, Olympic PSL Silver medallist said: “The snow is looking good already. It's high quality snow which can be produced at any kind of temperature.”

As a result, it seems the event is pretty snow secure.

“It's nice to see the commitment of the Local Organisers. Winterberg really wants this World Cup event!”
