Ledecka again on a two-pronged strategy
Ester Ledecka (CZE), the only athlete on the World Cup tour to also start on the ski alpine circuit will once again adopt her fruitful approach of doing both, snowboarding and skiing, in the up-coming season.
During her summer training when she joined Czech superstars Ondrej Bank and Sarka Strachova, the reigning parallel slalom world champion came to the decision to not change her so far successful pattern.
“I tried to learn as much as I could from them,” said Ledecka during a press conference in Prague.
“It was inspiring to train with Ondrej and do the ski testing with him. And I was also able to pick up a lot from Sarka.”
Nevertheless, the 20-year-old Sochi Olympian knows that she has to face some criticism regarding her two-pronged strategy but stays fully committed to her unique path:
“Both disciplines have the same importance. I will try to do as many snowboard and ski races as possible.”
However, Ledecka, who will compete in the 2015-16 in a brand new 'Iron Man' style outfit, hasn't finalised her travel itinerary yet.
