Double Olympic medallist Zan Kosir from Slovenia, who just turned 30 two weeks ago, has already started with his physical training for the upcoming season which will feature the first ever combined FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships in Kreischberg, Austria, as the main highlight of the season.

The raceboard athlete is fully focused on the major event, especially as Kreischberg has served Slovenian snowboarding well back in 2003 when former racer Dejan Kosir, who is not a relative of Zan Kosir, won the first WCS Gold for his home country.

“We will actually race on the Lachtal slope nearby. I know the slope as I did some Europa Cups there before. As this slope is just about one hour and a half from the Slovenian border, I will for sure be able to do some on-snow training at site during next winter,” Kosir said.

To be well-prepared, the Tržič resident has already kicked off his physical preparation for the up-coming season.

“When I came home from the Olympics some brand new Oxess boards were waiting for me. I wanted to test them as soon as possible,” he explained.

The rider, who brought home some Silver and Bronze neck wear from Sochi, added: “After the great party with fans and all other citizens in the city centre of my home town I did rest just a little bit in order to regenerate and spent some quality time with friends and sponsors.

But the spring was so nice in Slovenia so the great conditions were calling me back on the slopes! So I went back on snow.”

And the equipment tests went fine: “I'm satisfied with the results. I did collect enough information for the manufacturer. With this input we will have to continue the board development and I expect, that we will have the material that I will be using in the next season by the end of May.”

But besides al the hard work Kosir for sure won't forget to have fun with other outdoor activities such as mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, kitesurfing, beach volleyball, land boarding wiht some tennis matches also on the schedule.
