The Swiss Alpine Snowboarding Team has don everything right as news Head Coach Ingemar Walder took his racers to a one-week stamina work-out week to sunny Mallorca, Spain, while the rest of Europe was facing cold and wet temperatures.

The roster stayed in Playa del Muro as guests of max Hürzeler and his Bicycle Holidays enjoying top conditions on the island from May 12 thru 19.

“It's been perfect conditions. We were focusing on the stamina but also did some SUP sessions as well as volley ball and other stuff,” said Walder.

But as the main focus was on cycling, the squad pedalled a total of more than 500 km.

The queen stage took place last Saturday when they mastered 140 km and more than 1,750 metres in elevation gain due to some tough climbs up to Soller and Polenca, a 15 km ascent.

“All athletes were giving in their best. It was a great week with a greet team spirit,” Walder aded.

The next stamina work out week for the Swiss team will take place mid of June in the Dolomites.
