With less than 30 days to go to the FIS Snowboard World Cup season's first snowboard cross race, the Montafon region has given a good account of being the perfect host.

The advertising has started off well and also the world's best athletes coming from more than 20 countries have already registered to the race.

Dr. Georg Hoblik, OC Presodent stated during a press conference: “Our goal is to organise the event the best possible way. And we also hope that our local stars will kick off their Olympic season with a good result.”

The single race will be staged on Dec 6 (qualifiers) and 7 (finals) with a Team SBX taking place on Dec 8.

And also the local heroes are totally pumped to compete on home soil.

2013 Vice World Champion and 2009 World Champs Gold medallist Markus Schairer said:

“My season kicks off with a real highlight. I'm looking forward to the event.”

The race itself will be run on a new course design which was moved a little bit more downwards (check related news).
