Last weekend's Swiss Snowboard Cross Nationals saw a favourite winning the women's competition and an underdog taking home the glory on the men's side.

While Emilie Aubry was able to win the tight women's final in a close battle with Simona Meiler it was Nick Watter coming out first on the men's side.

The young gun edged off more experienced riders Jerome Lymann, Ruben Arnold and his older brother Tim, who was last season's most successful Swiss boarder crosser on the World Cup tour, to second and fourth respectively.

“I can't believe it,” cheered Nick Watter after the finals. “I'm super stoked on winning the Swiss Nationals.”

It was title #1 for Watter who just came back from a longer stay in the US a few weeks ago.

In contrary, Aubry claimed her career's second national title since 2008.

“That's a perfect season' ending for me,” said the Seeland resident.
