In today's qualifiers for the eighth and last snowboard cross race of the 2015-16 World Cup season staged at Baqueira Beret, Spain 22-year-old local heroLucas Eguibar kept the momentum from his Veysonnaz triumph two weeks ago and flew down the 877 metres long course designed and built by Nick Roma of White Industries Ltd in 53.88 therefore outclassing his competitors.

Alessandro Haemmerle (AUT) brought down the second fastest time in 54.47 looking strong enough to defend his second rank in the final World Cup standings behind of Pierre Vaultier (FRA) who had earned his fourth career title already ahead of the season's finale.

Aleksandr Guzachev (RUS) impressed the world with the third fastest time of 54.55 while Hanno Douschan (AUT) tied on to his good results of last weekend when he won both Europa Cup races in Puy St. Vincent, France clocking in a 54.58.

The women's qualification got postponed till tomorrow and will take place right before the finals slated to start at 12:45 PM CET with live broadcasting on the following stations:
