Mancari and Carver clinch Nor-Am race at Copper
Facing a blue bird sky and spring time snow conditions at Copper Mountain, CO, snowboarders from the US and Canada plus some guests from other countries like Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Brazil and Kazakhstan were up for the second-to-last sbx event of the 2015 Nor-Am Cup season last Sunday.
Built on top of a banked slalom the course mainly featured a bunch of turns and rollers and therefore gave those riders an advantage with the best reaction time at the start gate.
In the women's final it was Rosina Mancari (USA) who had celebrated her World Cup debut in Veysonnaz, Switzerland this season, taking the hole shot and the win in front of her teammate Meghan Tierney, also a 2015 World Cup debutant.
Nor-Am Cup leader Maria Ramberger from Austria rounded out the podium as third.
In the men's event, 2014 Nor-Am Cup title defender Roger Carver (USA) came in first ahead of US national team member Hagen Kearney and Australia's 2015 sbx team junior world champion Matthew Thomas.
The sbx Nor-Am Cup tour concludes in Big White Ski Resort, BC with the final race scheduled for April 2nd.
