Moenne Loccoz and Markus Schairer top qualifiers for Arosa SBX World Cup

Nelly Moenne Loccoz (FRA) and Markus Schairer (AUT, photo) have been the dominating riders on the snowboard cross World Cup course built by Wilhelm Borman (SWE) on the Carmenna slope in Arosa, Switzerland, today.

In today's qualifier's for the season's fifth SBX World Cup event, the 2013 SBX World Champs Silver medalists posted the fastest time of the day crossing the finish line on the 2007 World Champs hill after 55.78 seconds.

Reigning World Champion Alex Pullin (AUS, 56.13), 2013 WCS Bronze medalist Stian Sivertzen (NOR, 56.23) and Alex Deibold (USA, 56.59) were the other top qualifiers thus entering tomorrow's finals scheduled for 12 PM noon as one of the favourites for the win.

In the women's time trials, which kicked off right after the men's, it was Nelly Moenne Loccoz taking the top seat of the finals.

The French girl nailed a time of 1:00.50 min and was thus 10 hundredths faster than second ranked World Cup leader Dominique Maltais from Canada.

Olympic Champion Maelle Ricker (CAN) finished the qualifiers in third (1:00.69) while Yuka Fujimori will lead quarter final heat #4 due to her time of 1:01.43 minutes.
