Kristina Paul and Andrey Anisimov have claimed the 2016 Russian sbx title at Sunny Valley.

Paul, a 18-year-old up-and-coming talent who had represented her home country at the 2015 world championships and at five World Cup races already came out successful of the women's final which was raced in heats of four.

The fifth ranked rider of the 2016 Lillehammer Youth Olympic Games edged off no other than this year's Russian rising star and eight ranked rider in the world Marya Vasiltsova to the runner-up position to win the title.

Viktoria Bukevich rounded out the podium as third with Daria Matveeva being relegated to the unrewarding fourth rank.

In the men's event, Anisimov capitalised on the absence of Russian superstar Nikolay Olyunin to claim the win ahead of Anton Koprivitsa and Aleksandr Guzachev.

Veteran Andrey Boldikov, the oldest competitor in the field who only did race the Europa Cup in Grasgehren, Germany last January since finishing 33rd at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia underlined that he still has it in him coming in fourth.
