Simona Meiler suffers injury
The currently best female sbx rider from Switzerland hopes for a good X Games result burst like a bubble when the 26-year-old crashed hard on her back during the second day of training in Aspen, CO.
The Buenden native fractured one of her lumbar vertebrae and also hurt her left knee. Further medical examinations in Switzerland are supposed to give more indication of the injury.
Nevertheless, at the moment it seems that Meiler escaped with no more than a scare.
“It looks like the fracture is stable,” she got quoted in a press release sent out by the Swiss federation today.
However, it's unclear wether the ninth ranked rider of the World Cup standings will be able to compete on this season's tour again.
