An ideal setting for snowboard cross has been found. Vallnord-Arcalís is a hidden gem of free ride, tucked into the Pyrenees mountains of Andorra.

The free ride scene in Vallnord-Arcalís is strong with terrain that rivals the world’s top resorts.

Having a stable snowpack and countless different options for descents into untouched powder makes the resort the special place that it is.

The athletes of the world will be visiting Andorra for their first time to compete in the FIS snowboard cross World Cup tour.

With snow from the new snowmaking system installed this past summer, complimented by natural snow the snowboard cross track is almost complete with just some minor aspects of building left.

The venue has a 150 vertical meter drop and is close to 1,000 meters long. The track is located in Abarstar free ride area, a wide open basin perfect for a snowboard cross track construction.

The course features a 190 meter long start as well as a good balance of corners to straightaways which will hopefully lead to many passing opportunities come race day.

The SBX course in Vallnord-Arcalís does look good

The scenery and landscape around the Vallnord-Arcalís course is terrific with the free ride terrain setting the backdrop which should lead to some amazing race footage.

Races will be happening soon!
