Deep field to enter European Cup slopestyle Landgraaf
The slopestyle Europa Cup opener scheduled in SnowWorld Landgraaf, Holland on November 4th and 5th, 2015, is expected to be a record-breaking event.
With not less than 130 riders to compete, the freestyle snowboard weekend in the biggest indoor venue of the world is supposed to be the best ever – at least regarding the field size.
But also the athletes already registered stand for some high-quality and stylish riding.
Besides 16-year-old spinning machine Marcus Kleveland (NOR), the youngest rider ever to stomp a triple cork at the age of 13 who will start in his first ever FIS event, Finnish shredders Ville Paumola and Nuutti Niemelae will travel to SnowWorld to step up their game.
In addition, there are also a few flying Dutchmen who are aiming for the podium.
The most experienced of them is Dimi de Jong, a Sochi Olympian with one slopestyle World Cup win under his belt.
In addition, the 21-year-old rider was able to snatch the Landgraaf EC twice already (2007, 2013).
Last year's winner Niek van der Velden is also keen to bring home a back-to-back win while reigning slopestyle junior world champion Erik Bastiaansen is the favourite of the local fans.
