Selbach had been working for SNBGER for more than a decade in different positions and was responsible for the whole freestyle snowboarding area over the past Olympic circle.

“I always loved working with athletes, and I'm very proud of what we have achieved in Sochi and our training facilities in Berchtesgaden,” Selbach said.

Prof. Michael Hölz, President of Snowboard Germany, thanked Selbach for his dedication over the past ten years: “He has done a lot for the federation. We are grateful for his enthusiasm and work, and do wish him all the best for his new task.”

Executive Director Stefan Knirsch added: “We will check all kind of possibilities now to guarantee the development of our young talents as well as to achieve our goal of securing the potential of our best athletes.”

As a result, Selbach headed across the ditch together with Johannes Höpfl, Germany's sole halfpipe rider to represent his home country at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, to prepare for the FIS Snowboard Freestyle World Cup opener at Copper Mt, CO, which will take place Dec 4th - 6th.

Meanwhile, Snowboard Germany will screen applications for the job as freestyle coach. For further information on the job check the job description at the right side.
