Giacomo Kratter new Swiss coach
As of now, Giacomo Kratter (ITA) is joining the Swiss coaching staff. The 31-year-old experienced trainer will be responsible for the Halfpipe Pro and Challenger team thus taking the heat off Pepe Regazzi.
Regazzi will still be in charge as Freestyle Head Coach but steps back a bit in order to focus more on the up-and-coming talents.
Kratter is well-respected in the scene. He coached the Italian Freestyle Team since 2010 and looks back on a successful career as rider too.
In 2002, he placed fourth at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. He represented his home country in Bardonecchia four years later too (13th) while also competing at three World Championships.
He also participated in 17 World Cup events bringing home one podium result back in 2001 as second in Berchtesgaden, Germany.
In addition, he was the first snowboarder to land a frontside 1260 and back-to-back 1080's in the halfpipe.
