Groundhog day for freestyle snowboarding?

It's an unforgotten move in the scene, a move only money can buy.

In the lead up to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games at Vancouver, BC., the back then reigning champion Shaun White received his very own halfpipe built by his sponsor Red Bull for $ 500,000.

It was a move no one had ever thought of before but it seems, that history is repeating itself.

Rumour has it that – according to – a massive Olympic-sized halfpipe got built in the steep part of Perisher, right in the NSW Snowy Mountains, Australia.

And as Shaun White is reported to be at site, it's believed that two other or even more sponsors supporting the two-time Olympic Gold medallist have put together some money again to provide the best imaginable training facilities for the snowboard icon.
