Sobolev (RUS) has been trying to answer about 2000 text messages since he competed with his cell phone number written on his helmet in Thursday's slopestyle qualifiers.

"Most of the messages are good luck messages and messages from the girls," Sobolev said after practice on Friday. "Some of the messages are not appropriate to read aloud."

Some well-wishers have even sent photos to Sobolev, the first Russian athlete to compete at Sochi 2014. "I have a good collection. I don't send pictures back," Sobolev said, laughing.

Competition rules will not allow Sobolev to have anything on his helmet for the finals on Saturday, but as he said: "Everyone already knows my number."

Sobolev is hopeful the text messages might lead to a future girlfriend, but says that at the moment he just wants to have fun. "It's boring in the Olympic Village right now," he said.
