X-Games have turned out as an unlucky event for the Olympic Gold medal contender.

The Canadian, who is one of the top favourites in slopestyle however is still optimistic to be back on his game after having fractured a rib last weekend.

The 20-year-old Regina native had caught his snowboard on a rail during the final and thus suffered his injury.

But tests in the hospital nearby have revealed no further internal injuries.

"Thank you to everyone for your concern”, the 2013 FIS Snowboard World Championships slopestyle Silver medalist said.

“After thorough discussions with my team of doctors and a number of medical specialists, and my physical therapist and coaches, I will continue as planned with traveling to Europe and recovering for the Olympics. While I'm sore, I'm continuing on my road to Sochi."
