McMorris nominated for ESPY Awards
The first ever Canadian ever nominated for “Best Male Action Sports Athlete” just earned his fourth nominee for the prestigious event taking place July 12 in Los Angeles.
Although his season came to an horrifying end when the Saskatchewan native crashed hard suffering a nasty injury while riding the Whistler backcountry with his brother Craig, the 2014 Olympic slopestyle Bronze medallist is looking back on a great winter - result-wise.
After finally coming back from a broken femur sustained at the 2016 Los Angeles Air & Style, the 23-year-old podiumed five times on the World Cup tour of which two were wins – including the Olympic big air test event staged in Alpensia, South Korea.
Above that, he also won Gold in the US Open slopestyle event as well as the big air of the X Games Oslo and claimed the big air as well as snowboard freestyle overall World Cup titles.
Besides McMorris, also Norwegian freeskier Oystein Braaten, surfer John John Florence (USA) and skateboarder Nyjah Huston (USA) received their nominees.
