It's the second time in history since Otago (NZL) in 2010 that the Junior World Championships for both, freestyle skiing and snowboarding, will take place at the same venue.

And the resort couldn't have been chosen better as Chiesa in Valmalenco not only has a long time history in organising high-quality World Cup events but also in hosting Junior World Championships in both disciplines.

In 2011 the most talented riders capitalised on perfect snow conditions under blue bird sky to battle for gold, silver and bronze in five different snowboard events.

The last two years, the Italian ski resort welcomed the up-coming generation of freestyle skiers to take their chance for well-respected titles.

In 2014, FIS and Local Organisers bring both together in the Palu Park from March 24 thru April 6, 2014.

Two action-packed weeks will bring six snowboard and six freestyle skiing competitions in which a total of 72 medals will be awarded.

While aerials, moguls, dual moguls, ski cross as well as halfpipe and slopestyle for both, snowboarding and freestyle skiing plus parallel slalom, parallel giant slalom and snowboard cross have been Junior World Championships events before, it will be the first time in history that the young guns will go for gold in the snowboard cross team event.

In 2013, the first SBX Team competition had to be canceled due to bad weather conditions.

In 2015, the first ever combined FIS Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard World Championships will take place in Kreischberg, Austria.
