    A new chapter was added to the history books of the FIS Snowboard World Cup tour today. Not only was Istanbul the first ever Turkish city to host a World Cup event but also more than 10,000 spectators in the stadium of the Turkish Technical University (ITÜ) witnessed the first ever Big Air contest for both, men and women with top qualifiers Ty Walker (USA) and Seppe Smits (BEL) taking home the glory and the biggest stake of a record prize money of CHF 112,500.

    The fifth biggest city in the world is ready for a World Cup first! For the first time ever, a stop of the world-wide contest series will take place in Turkey with the Istanbul Big Air competition also being the first one ever featuring female and male snowboarders dropping in.
