14 alpine snowboarders and thus almost the whole German rooster is currently in Zermatt, Switzerland, for their season's fifth on-snow trainings camp.

The main focus for the national team riders as well as some of the countries' young hopefuls is on the technique and material testing.

“The conditions on the glacier as well as the slope's inclination are perfect to better the carving technique as well as to work on the best set-up between board, boots and plates,” said head coach Andi Scheid, who aims for daily course settings.

According to this the whole World Cup squad left the flip-flops at home and changed summer clothes to winter clothes for about one week (September 13 -19).

Besides 2006 Olympic Silver medalist Amelie Kober also Selina Joerg, Anke Karstens, Rosa Czipf, Patrick Bussler as well as Alexander Bergmann and Daniel Weis are currently in Switzerland.

Only Isabella Laboeck and Maximilian Koepf are missing due to injury.

Therefore, C-rooster athletes Cheyenne Loch, Melanie Hochreiter, Stefan Baumeister and Christian Hupfauer joined the team.

In addition, also talents Ramona Hofmeister, Carolin Langenhorst and Barbara Mueller will train with the national team riders.

“Especially for those kids it's a big chance to lock horns with the top guns. They will benefit from every training session and the direct comparison with them,” explained Scheid, who is happy about having almost everyone together.
