World Champion with good preparation for Olympic season
Reigning PSL world champion Rok Marguc has just recently completed another on-snow training.
But other than the most alpine snowboarders, the Slovenian did not chose to train solely on one of the numerous glaciers around but also in the SnowWorld at Landgraaf.
“It was great. I did ride twice a day in constant conditions,” said the rider from Celje who hopes that the indoor slope right behind of the German-Dutch border will be back on the World Cup map next year again.
Marguc, who is back in the Alps again, to be precise in Kaunertal, had kicked off his snow training beginning of August in Zermatt, before he went to Landgraaf, back to Hintertux and once again back to Landgraaf.
“Yes I did train at different locations. Maybe I will do the final preparations for the Olympics season in Abzakovo, Russia,” added the 27-year-old, who had a good but also hard summer.
“I am fully focused on the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games, that is primary goal. The World Cup is not on top of my priority list this year. So my summer trainings were hard and focused.
I did a lot of physical exercises on home soil in Slovenia, spent some time in Rogla where many Slovenian and foreign athletes from different sports are doing their basic summer trainings camps.”
But training was not everything.
“Beside the hard physical training I also enjoyed a kite surfing trip to Mauritius. It was great, it gave me the energy for a hard autumn,” recapped the Slovenian Olympic hopeful, who was delighted that the race boarders' season will begin with a double event in Carezza, Italy.
