Stoneham, Quebec, has a long history as a World Cup host with the first competitions being held in the resort in December 2002. But it is a special mixture which makes this stop at the mountain located within a 30 min drive from Quebec City so tradition-rich.
Since the 2007/2008 season, the local staff organises the snowjamboree festival which brings everything together what snowboarding is all about. Lifestyle, fashion, music, youth and sport - all in a whole package make the tour's stop in Quebec a memorable one where all the riders love to come back to.
But besides the stair master's action or the cat walk show in the city, which makes the nightlife so enjoyable, Stoneham Mountain provides a fantastic infrastructure for all athletes which the competitors of the 2013 FIS Snowboard World Championships were able to experience once again last winter.
This season, Local Organisers will host a full set of freestyle snowboarding events: big air, halfpipe and slopestyle. As a result, Stoneham/Quebec will edge off Whistler (61) of the rankings top spot for most World Cup competitions held at site.
