The British high flyer (here on his way to hit #2) beats Belgium homeboy Seppe Smits

After the first qualifier heat did have its highlights before, it was time for Belgium's national hero Seppe Smits to enter the competition in qualifier heat #2.

Facing slight rainfall, the 2011 WCS Big Air Silver medalist was more than focused to do good in front of his home crowd and pulled off a super high backside 1080 double cork in his first attempt.

Awarded with 92.25 points, it seemed that the rider living close to Antwerp would win his heat.

Until Billy Morgan impressively raised the bar for the upcoming semis and finals.

The British mega talent threw in no less than a backside 1260 double cork earning the highest score so far (93.50).

Next to Morgan and Smits, it was Pat Burgener also proceeding directly to the finals having stomped a switch backside 1080 double (91.00).

Matevz Pristavec (SLO), Joel Staub (SUI), Joris Ouwerkerk (NED), Alexey Sobolev (RUS), Kevin Bronckaers (BEL) and Michael Roy (CAN) are the last six riders to compete in the semi finals.
