Podladtchikov returns to his parent's home
World Champion ready for next step to Olympic Gold
Like many others, Iouri Podladtchikov, the first ever snowboarder to hold both World Championship titles, the one from the World Snowboard Tour and the one from FIS, has one dream:
To bring home Gold from the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
It will be his third Games and therefore the Russian-born rider, who represented Russia in 2006 and Switzerland in 2010, is doing everything to place on top in about one year.
Together with former Swiss Freestyle Snowboarding Head Coach Marco Bruni, iPod is training new tricks and his runs apart from any spectators, in his own halfpipe provided by his sponsors.
“In order to set new standards I have to do special trainings,” says Podladtchikov who scheduled everything around his big goal.
As a result, he skipped the Copper World Cup to start at the 2013 FIS World Championships in the best possible shape – and to get used to the processes to expect in Sochi 2014.
“At the worlds, i's the same procedure as at the Olympics, the same judges. As a result, the worlds are the next most important event after the Olympics.”
Now it's time for the Olympic test events, the next step on the road to Sochi 2014. And it's time to find out, what to expect in one year.
