The most teams have arrived now and have been training already in the superpipe at the Ruka ski resort.

The halfpipe, which was shaped and is maintained by Alli Zehentner, looks great and also provides a lot of fun according to the athletes.

Former Olympian Antti Autti said: “It's the best halfpipe in Finland in December, and it just keeps getting better and better.”

His fellow countrywoman Ella Suitiala added: “The halfpipe is feeling great! It's good to be at Ruka.”

Some 80 riders from more than 22 countries will compete in the FIS Snowboard World Cup season's second halfpipe event.

The first official training is scheduled for tomorrow at 14:00 under polar light. For further information on the program click here.
