FIS Telemark World Championships conclude
From 11th to 17th March, the world’s best Telemark skiers battled it out for medals at the FIS Telemark World Ski Championships staged in Espot (SPA). The Championships distributed gold, silver and bronze in four different events: classic, parallel sprint, team parallel sprint and sprint.
While Tobias Mueller from Germany took gold in all three individual events, Sigrid Rykhus from Norway nailed the Championship title in the ladies’ sprint and parallel sprint, while taking silver in the classic event. Amelia Raymond from Switzerland was another shining star by becoming victorious in the classical event and claiming silver in the two remaining individual events.
In a thrilling parallel team sprint on 16th March, the Swiss squad took gold ahead of the teams from Norway and Sweden. In this event, the best eight squads in the current nations standings compete against each other in head-to-head races while each team features three racers (1 lady, 2 men).
