The Speed Skiing World Cup finals are held in Verbier (SUI) this week. Competitions on Wednesday had to be cancelled due to poor visibility and the weather forecast remains challenging for the rest of the week. When the conditions permit action to go ahead, the Organizers have prepared a great slope ready to host the world's fastest skiers.
In the ladies' World Cup, the lead is held by defending champion Sweden's Sanna Tidstrand by 80 points ahead of Karine Dubouchet-Revol of France. In the men's rankings, Austrian Klaus Schrottshammer leads with insurmountable 400 points ahead of Ivan Origone (ITA) with 250 and Philippe May (SUI) with 239.
