Mattel leads ladies' Jumping summer series

Three quarters of the FIS Continental Cup summer series in ladies' Ski Jumping has been completed after two competition weekends in Germany, in Bischofsgrün and Oberwiesenthal, during the last ten days. After a total of six competitions, the ladies summer ranking is led by France's Coline Mattel, the runner-up at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo (NOR), with 450 points. Sara Takanashi of Japan is 2nd with 346 points, followed by Maja Vtic (SLO) with 288 points.

In Oberwiesenthal last weekend, the Austrian ladies' team lead a clean sweep as Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and the reigning world champion Daniela Iraschko won the two competitions, one each. Besides Mattel leading the series, the French team is coming strong with young Lea Lemare claiming her first podium in Oberwiesenthal. Altogether this summer, 47 ladies have already scored COC points with three competitions remaining. The summer series will continue with just two competitions remaining on the schedule in Trondheim, Norway, on 10th-11th September 2011.
