President Kasper receives Best of the Alps Award 2011
Gian Franco Kasper, President of the International Ski Federation, is the recipient of the Best of the Alps® Award 2011.
"President Kasper has been very active on behalf of tourism and sports all his professional life. He always seeks to combine economic viability with reform, environmental sustainability and safety aspects," explained Markus Tschoner, President of the Best of the Alps® and added: "He is a great personality, serving sports with passion and yet his is no functionary. He is a visionary, or, as he has been amicably called by the press, a "FIS-ionary".
The Best of the Alps® Award is an honor bestowed by the twelve members of the Best of the Alps® Classic Mountain Resorts. The award is presented to persons, enterprises or institutions for outstanding achievement for the benefit of the economic, cultural, social and political life of the European Alpine region on an annual basis.
The Best of the Alps® Award 2011 will be presented to President Kasper on 15th December 2011 in St. Moritz (SUI).
