Forum Nordicum 2011 to convene in Ramsau The 2011 Forum Nordicum, the traditional meeting of the ‘Union of Nordic Ski Journalists’ which is part of the AIPS (‘Association de la Presse Sportive'), will be held in Ramsau (AUT) from Monday, 10th October until Thursday, 13th October. Ramsau, the host town of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 and a DKB FIS Nordic Combined World Cup venue, will welcome some hundred representatives of the media, ski industry, local organizing committees and the Nordic ski sports' governing bodies for a season opening ‘question and answer’ session. The FIS Day will take place on Tuesday 11th October when FIS representatives led by the President Gian Franco Kasper will discuss the latest developments in the world of skiing. The FIS Day will also include presentations from FIS World Cup Organizers in Ramsau, Toblach and Willingen as well as Val di Fiemme, the host of the 2013 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. "The Forum Nordicum is a unique event that exists only in few other disciplines," said Forum Nordicum Coordinator Uwe Jentzsch. "We are very pleased to see that so many high ranked FIS officials, including FIS President Gian Franco Kasper, will join this year’s Forum Nordicum and take their time to engage in a dialogue with the journalists. The Forum enables the meeting of two different perspectives: The willingness of the International Ski Federation to meet the media to cooperate with them, and the engagement of the journalists for ‘their’ sport."
