Mika Kulmala new managing director in Finland
The Finnish Ski Association has selected a new managing director. The new man in charge will be Mika Kulmala who will lead both the Finnish Ski Association and the Finnish Cross-Country Association beginning on 1st January 2012. Previously the managing director of the Finnish Orienteering Association for the last three years, Kulmala has also worked for the Finnish Sport Institute and the Finnish Army as well as head coach of the Finnish Ski Orienteering team.
Following his selection Kulmala commented:"This is a rare opportunity to work with the disciplines that are expected to fulfill the Finns' biggest medal expectations at the Olympic Winter Games. All the disciplines belong to the most popular in Finland and the athletes are well-known, so it will be a challenge."
