FIS welcomes two new communications staff FIS is pleased to announce that Andrew "Andy" Cholinski (24) who worked as World Snow Day Assistant until the end of January 2012 will be returning to FIS to work full-time in the role of Coordinator, Bring Children to the Snow, from Monday 30th April. In this role Andy will manage both the FIS SnowKidz and World Snow Day projects after spending the Northern winter and spring at home in Australia to finish his double degree in Leisure Management and International Studies at the University of Technology in Sydney. A Polish-Australian citizen and a true snow enthusiast, he is looking forward to returning to Europe, including the Alps, where he can continue to pursue his love for snowboarding and the snow in general. Andy's first day at FIS will also be the last day for Trude Edvardsen who has decided to move to pastures new after managing the Bring Children to the Snow campaign for 3.5 years. We thank Trude for her great engagement in helping ensure the future generations around the world grow up loving the snow and snow sports and wish her all the best in her future endeavors! Also joining FIS next week is Melanie Strauch (28) who joins in the role of Communications Assistant. She succeeds Sofie Torlei Olsen who returned to her native Norway at the end of March. Melanie has most recently been working at the German Olympic Sports Confederation in Frankfurt as Officer with the Athletes Commission as well as at the European Non-Governmental Sports Organization in Brussels managing an EU Initiative focused on social inclusion in sports. She has a Masters' in International Management from the University of Savoy, Chambery (FRA) and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki (FIN). A German native, she has also studied in the USA and enjoys snowboarding, skiing, running, swimming and tennis. Please join us in welcoming Andy and Melanie to FIS! |
