Upcoming elections of the FIS Athletes’ Commission

Upcoming elections of the FIS Athletes’ Commission

The coming season will see the elections of the members of the entire FIS Athletes’ Commission by their peers during the different FIS World Championships.

The Commission is the link between active athletes and the International Ski Federation whose purpose it is to discuss and address issues concerning athletes in general.

As the role of the athlete is an essential and integral part of the governance of FIS, the National Ski Associations are requested to encourage their athletes to participate in the election by voting and/or standing as a candidate for a two-year term of office.

Swedish ski legend Anja Paerson, reaffirms: “As a member of the current Athletes’ Commission, I would like to encourage athletes to proactively represent the voice of their peers within FIS. In this process, National Ski Associations play an essential role in actively promoting the elections. Since its introduction in 1996, the members of the Athletes’ Commission have achieved continued recognition and inclusion within different FIS Committees. This is your chance to stand in for the interests of athletes and help grow our successful work in future.”

Final information about the eligibility of candidates and the procedure for the elections will follow after the FIS Council Meeting in early November.
