CONI puts FISI under commissioner rule
The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) has ruled that the president of the country's winter sports federation FISI, Giovanni Morzenti, was elected in an irregular vote and removed him from office last week. Morzenti won the FISI election in April 2010 with 50.6 percent of the votes but a small member association asked that the election be annulled for irregularities including reported falsely signed ballots.
CONI is expected to name an extraordinary commissioner to take over FISI for the time being.
