FIS Season Accreditation to close on 30th November

FIS Season Accreditation to close on 30th November

Regular visitors to FIS World Cups again have the opportunity to apply for the FIS Season Accreditation (SA). Specifically this concerns the officials of the FIS Member National Ski Associations, international media and representatives of the ski industry.

The FIS Season Accreditation enables its holder to access pre-defined, controlled areas of the venue at each FIS World Cup event they attend during the 2011/12 season. Each holder of a FIS Season Accreditation also has a personalized code. However, it should be noted that it does not replace local accreditation administered by each FIS World Cup Organizer, and registration continues to be required to enable the Organizer to confirm the number of persons attending their event.

The FIS Season Accreditation is currently only valid for FIS World Cup events. Each FIS World Championship Organizing Committee manages and controls their own accreditation system and therefore individuals planning to attend must apply for an accreditation directly with the FIS World Championship Organizing Committee.

For the FIS Cross-Country World Cup a system continues to be piloted where regular visitors may apply for the FIS Cross-Country Season Accreditation which will directly incorporate access privileges valid for all Cross-Country World Cup events. Holders will therefore not be required to apply to each individual World Cup Organizer. Nevertheless they will need to communicate with the Organizer to arrange their accommodation and announce their attendance. Representatives from the media will also need to complete the online event registration to reserve and confirm their working places in the media centers. Applications for the FIS Season Accreditation for Cross-Country can be made through the same online registration system simply by selecting the Cross-Country discipline.

Based on feedback from the Organizing Committees and other World Cup stakeholders, FIS is currently reviewing the FIS season accreditation system and is working towards developing a concept that provides added value to both the Season Accreditation card holders and the Organizing Committees. The goal for 2012/2013 is to implement a FIS Nordic Season Accreditation, providing access at all Nordic World Cup events for a strictly controlled group of World Cup professionals.

Registration for the FIS Season Accreditation 2011/2012 is only available online and will remain open until 30th November 2011. The nominal fee charged includes additional accident insurance for the card holders. For more information about who is eligible for the FIS season accreditation and to register, please click here.
