Audi presents the world's best skiers

As Presenting Sponsor of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2011 and partner of a total of 13 alpine national teams, Audi is not only nailing its colors to the masts at the "Kandahar" and "Gudiberg" ski arenas but will also display the brand by presenting an extensive program off the slopes. After St. Moritz (2003), Bormio (2005) and Val d'Isère (2009), these are the fourth title contests with Audi as the Presenting Sponsor.

Audi will use the "home game" in Upper Bavaria for a particularly extensive presentation. The athletes will enter each of the races from a start house sporting a design marked by the Four Rings, as they do during the entire Audi FIS Ski World Cup. The brand will also be featured on the banners along the Kandahar and Gudiberg slopes as well as in the finish area, on the wall behind the winners' podium and on various other advertising material. Guests and athletes will also be able to experience "Vorsprung durch Technik" - the slogan is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year - on the way to the slope. Audi has furnished 70 vehicles for the shuttle fleet including the Audi Q5 and Q7 plus an A8 stretch version. In addition, the medalists will be chauffeured to the podium ceremony on the Medal Plaza in Audi Cabriolets.

The World Championship "WM" Park is another venue packed with action. Interview and autograph sessions featuring stars and other prominent guests will be held at the public Audi Fan Meeting Place at 17:00 CET on race days. The Audi Lounge is the place where athletes and invited guests will come together and an attractive place for international media to meet with them.

Furthermore, the company will be present with a vehicle exhibition and a fan shop in the Kandahar and Gudiberg spectator areas. A new app for the iPhone and iPod touch, which Audi has developed for the World Ski Championships will keep journalists and fans supplied with information on results plus entry lists, photographs and videos. The app is available free of charge at the AppStore. In addition, an insert provided with the World Cup Express that is published twice a day and will contain news and background information from the sporty Audi world.

As a recollection of the ski jump TV commercial that caused a sensation in the middle of the 1980's, Audi will keep an A6 placed on the ski jump throughout the world championships. The car's predecessor featured in the commercial back then drove up a ski jump in Finland thanks to permanent quattro four-wheel drive.
