Ski Jumping Sub-Committees gather in Zürich The competition calendars for the upcoming summer and winter seasons were presented on 8th- 9th April at the FIS Ski Jumping Sub-Committee meetings traditionally held in Zurich (SUI). From the 2011/2012 winter season there will be an additional competition series taking place and therefore an additional calendar. To the great joy of everyone involved, the first Ladies World Cup calendar was presented in which is planned to feature ten locations in eight different countries. As usual the men's competition schedule will consist of the FIS Cup, COC and World Cup levels. The highlights of this winter for the men will be the Four-Hills-Tournament from 30th December 2011- 6th January 2012 as well as the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund (NOR) from 24th-26th February 2012. For further details, visit fisskijumping.com In addition, changes concerning the equipment were proposed in Zurich. The men's Body Mass Index (BMI) should be increased from 20.5 to 21. Together with the reduction of the allowed percentage of the entire ski length used as the front part by 1 % (this means that the binding must be mounted more - 2-3cm - towards the front of the ski) and the consequent change in the ski's behavior in the air, this increase shall further promote the emphasis on the athletic ability of the athletes.
