Introducing new FIS Council Members: Andrey Bokarev (RUS)
The 48th International Ski Congress in Kangwonland (KOR) elected two new members of the FIS Council for the two-year period 2012-2014. The FIS Newsflash will introduce the new members in the next two editions.
Andrey Bokarev (RUS)
Andrey Bokarev (*1966) was elected President of the Russian Ski Association in March 2010. Prior to that, he has served as President of the Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation from 2006 to 2010 after which he was appointed President of the Russian Freestyle Federation. Furthermore, Andrey Bokarev is a member of the Executive Board of the Russian Olympic Committee.
In his business activities, Mr Bokarev holds the position of Chairman of Board of Directors of two of the biggest Russian Joint Stock Companies, Transmashholding and Kubasrazresugol. As a member of the Bureau of the Russian Union of Manufacturers and Industrialists, he chairs the Coordination Council of the Siberian Region.
Besides high performance sports, Andrey Bokarev pays great attention to the development of youth and mass sports by facilitating regular snow sports competitions for children. The new FIS Council member also takes active part in the preparations for the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi (RUS) and focuses his efforts on the use of Olympic facilities after the Games.
