Athletes’ Commission – nominate your candidates!
National Ski Associations are invited to submit nominations of their candidates for the elections of the FIS Athletes’ Commission during the respective FIS World Championships in 2013.
The Commission, whose purpose it is to discuss and address issues concerning athletes in general, is the link between active athletes and the International Ski Federation’s advisory and decision-making bodies. The elected Athletes' Commission members are also part of the Executive Board or main Committee of the FIS Technical Committees in each discipline.
Following the FIS Council meeting on 3rd -4th November 2012, the composition and procedures for the Athletes’ Commission for 2013-2015 has been approved as follows:
Alpine: 4 Members - 2 Ladies and 2 Men
Cross-Country: 2 Members - 1 Lady and 1 Man
Ski-Jumping: 2 Members - 1 Lady and 1 Man
Nordic Combined: 1 Member - 1 Man
Freestyle: 2 Members - 1 Lady and 1 Man
Snowboard: 2 Members - 1 Lady and 1 Man
Candidates for the Athletes’ Commission should be active athletes and have competed at the previous FIS World Championships 2011 or at World Cup level in season 2010/11. One candidate per nation may stand for election in one of the FIS disciplines.
Nominations will be accepted until one month prior to the opening ceremony of each FIS World Championship detailed in this leaflet.
