St. Moritz, Switzerland - Candidate for Alpine Events in 2017
‘Live the future!' is the vision of the St. Moritz bid committee which wants to bring the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2017 back to the popular Swiss ski resort.
"Future" refers to forward-looking, and working for the youth. Today´s children would be the ones engaged in the 2017 Championships and should experience in less than five years from now what elder generations have already experienced in past.
Determined to win the FIS mandate, St. Moritz 2017 has set the ambitious goal to be better than the best. Conscientious that competitors can perform equally well, the team builds upon its expertise, know-how and connections developed during past events: two Olympic Winter Games (1928, 1948), four FIS Alpine World Ski Championships (1934, 1948, 1974, 2003) and the regular seasonal FIS events.
St. Moritz is bidding for the third time in a row to host the FIS Alpine World Championships.
