Next to the 2013 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy will be staging an additional Nordic highlight, this time in the province of Asiago. From 14th-23rd February 2013, the Cross-Country Masters World Cup will be home to more than 1’200 participants from 25 nations competing in five age groups.

A special highlight will be the participation of the most successful Cross-Country athlete of all times, Bjørn Dæhlie from Norway. The 45-year-old will not only be one of the speakers at the official Opening Ceremony but also a competitor in his own age group. Dæhlie’s outstanding achievements include 8 gold and 4 silver medals at the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville (FRA), Lillehammer (NOR), and Nagano (JAP) as well as 17 medals at 5 World Championships, 6 overall Cross- Country World Cup titles and 2 Cross-Country sprint World Cup titles.

Among the five age groups, the youngest one will range from 30-34 years with the oldest one including 90 years and older. The event schedule will consist of three individual competitions per age category (short, medium and long distance), next to 4 x 5 km team relays.
