Big Sochi 2014 test event season gets underway

With only 428 days to go until the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014, the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competitions at the RusSki Gorki" Jumping Center from 8th-9th December will serve as one of the official test events before the opening of the Games.

This will be the first time the brand new facility will be tested on snow, after Summer Grand Prix competitions were held there in Nordic Combined in July.
Both the ladies and men's tours will be at the 2014 Olympic venue to get a first glimpse into the new hill. For the ladies this is a special highlight as they are now close to their Olympic debut in just 15 months' time.

Despite the warm temperatures, +8C just three days ahead of the start, the Organisers have worked hard, and thanks to last season's snow stored under cover, are ready to host the world's best jumpers.

Ski Jumping will be followed by competitions in the other FIS Olympic disciplines as follows:

- FIS Cross-Country and Nordic Combined World Cup: 1st to 3rd February 2013
- FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Cup: 7th to 20th February 2013

- FIS Alpine Skiing European Cup Finals 10th-17th March 2013
