FIS Council Member Roman Kumpost turns 50 years
FIS extends its best wishes to Roman Kumpost (CZE) who celebrates his 50th birthday today, 12th December 2012.
Roman Kumpost was elected to the FIS Council in 2010. He has also been a member of the FIS Nordic Combined Executive Board since 1989, and serves as chair of the Nordic Combined Committee since 2012. He has been Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Czech Ski Association since 2006 and also served as Honorary President of the Organising Committee of the 2011 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) in Liberec.
In the past, Roman Kumpost served as President of the Organising Committee of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec from 2004 to 2007, after having led the bid committee for eight years (1996-2004). He was the President of the Czech Ski Association from 2001-2004, following his career as member and team manager of the Czechoslovak Nordic Combined National Team in the 1980's and early-1990's.
Holder of a degree in machinery from the Technical University of Liberec, Roman Kumpost resides in Liberec.
