FIS Council Member Michel Vion honoured “Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur“

FIS Council Member and President of the French Ski Assocation, Michel Vion, has recently received the “Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur“ Award, the highest distinction in France which recognises military and civil merits rendered to the nation. It was established in May 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte.

Throughout his career, Michel Vion has devoted more than 31 years to French ski sports including his active years which were crowned by a title win at the 1982 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming (AUT) in the combined event, his engagement for the French Ski Association, firstly as National Technical Director and of which he became President in 2010, and his ten-year membership of the FIS Council.
