Sudden death of Simona Senoner

FIS sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of 17-year-old ski jumper Simona Senoner who died suddenly of a cardiac arrest caused by a viral infection in Schonach on 7th January before the ladies Continental Cup competitions there. The young South Tyrolean was found unconscious in her hotel room and could not be resuscitated in the hospital. All athletes competed on the following day with a black armband following the tragic loss of one of their colleagues and friends.
