Tour de Ski evaluation meeting in Munich

The Tour de Ski 2011/12 evaluation meeting in Munich saw more than 20 representatives of the Organizing Committees, representatives of Infront Italy and FIS Marketing AG, as well as FIS conduct a debrief on the sixth edition of the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear on 20th April.

The detailed review included results from surveys with different stakeholder groups and in depth discussions on topics such as marketing & promotion, accommodation and logistics in order to make sure that improvements will be implemented, so that the next edition of the Tour will be even better and more successful.

"The sixth edition of the FIS Tour de Ski was a clear highlight of the season in a gap year without Olympics or World Championships. It was the longest and toughest Tour in history with all the best athletes taking part. We can be proud of the TV ratings, the highest ever, the growing online interest and a great number of spectators on site, but we also realize that we still have possibilities to develop further," FIS Cross-Country Race Director Jürg Capol said.

The evaluation meeting also looked into the future. For the first time in history the FIS Tour de Ski will visit Switzerland next season. "The Cross-Country Committee set the task for the Tour de Ski to travel to three countries. Last spring, Swiss-Ski nominated several resorts, which were thoroughly evaluated both from the organizational and logistical perspectives. In the 2012/13 season the Tour will be traveling to Münstertal, the home valley of Dario Cologna," added Jürg Capol. Val Müstair will organize the fourth stage of the Tour featuring a free technique sprint.

The seventh edition of the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear will take place from 28th December 2012 to 6th January 2013.
