Voices of new Sub-Committee Chairs - Gabriella Paruzzi
Following the FIS Council meeting on 3rd and 4th November 2012 in Oberhofen (SUI), the Council appointed Gabrielle Paruzzi as the new Chair of the Sub-Committee for Ladies Cross-Country Skiing. In today’s edition, FIS Newsflash presents her initial thoughts as she embarks on her new tasks:
“I feel honoured to have been nominated as the new Chairperson of the Ladies Cross-Country Sub-Committee by the FIS Council. Based on my multi-year experience as an active Cross-Country skier in the Italian National Team, I would like to accomplish a number of hopes and expectations held by most of the ladies of the national teams.
Since seven years, I have been retired from the field of international competition and currently I am dealing with athletes’ issues and concerns within the Italian Ski Association. The importance of my role is to be a reference person for all matters relating to the National Cross-Country Associations. Moreover, I would like to contribute to the on-going changes in a concrete way, by taking into account the behaviour of the younger generation. In addition, I would like to underline that the close collaboration with all other members of the Ladies Cross-Country Skiing Committee is of great importance to support the common interest of ladies Cross-Country Skiing and its benefit all over the world.”
