FIS Telemark World Ski Championships to get underway in Espot
The world’s best Telemark skiers will battle it out for medals at the FIS Telemark World Ski Championships which will be staged at the Espot (SPA) ski resort from 11th to 17th March.Some 100 athletes from more than 15 countries have been entered to compete in one of the largest events the Pyrenees mountain range has seen this season.
In recent years, Espot, situated in Catalonia in the North of Spain, has become a regular stop on the FIS Telemark circuit by successfully hosting three World Cup events since 2009/10.
Besides the competition there are a number of cultural and entertainment events planned at the resort itself, in the town of Espot and throughout the Pallars Sobirà region including workshops, parades and festivals.
